"Sportsmanship, fun, and making a difference in someone else's life."
During the 9th edition of Bikes & Bites, Harmeling Interiors and Rikkert Afbouwgroep once again raised a significant amount for charity. This year’s proceeds from the event will go to WensAmbulance Oost-Nederland, an organization that makes wishes come true for people who rely on wheelchair-accessible transportation. This year’s efforts resulted in a generous donation of €22,750.
Over the past few years, Bikes & Bites has grown into a cherished tradition where sportsmanship and social engagement come together. What began as an initiative among friendly companies has now become an annual event where participants, volunteers, and partners work together toward a meaningful cause.
From kilometers to meaningful moments
With this year’s donation, we are making a concrete contribution to the work of Wensambulance Oost-Nederland. This organization fulfills the wishes of people who, due to illness or limited mobility, can no longer travel independently. Think of a final visit to family, a stadium, or a place of emotional significance. It is precisely those moments that make a difference.
“What a wonderful event you’ve organized. Seeing all those participants jump onto their bikes full of energy gave us goosebumps. And on top of that, you’ve raised such an amazing amount together!
So much commitment, enthusiasm, and joy is heartwarming. With this, you’ve ensured that we at WensAmbulance Oost-Nederland can once again make many wishes come true and help create memories. Thank you so much, the Bikes and Bites organization and all participants.” – Karin van Dam, Chair of WensAmbulance Oost-Nederland
Moving Together for a Good Cause
A hallmark of Bikes & Bites is that the organizing parties cover the event’s costs themselves. As a result, all proceeds go directly to the chosen charity. With this contribution to WensAmbulance Oost-Nederland, Bikes & Bites puts into practice what it stands for: sportsmanship, fun, taking responsibility, and giving back to the community.
We look back with pride on a successful event. See you next year!
