Urenco Almelo

Plegt-Vos Oost B.V. commissioned the custom interior design for the office in Urenco’s new building in Almelo. The design was created by LEF Architecten of Oldenzaal. The project focused on creating a high-quality, functional, and sustainable work environment.

Spread across four floors and approximately 5,390 sqm, the following were realized:

• Pantries
• Cloakrooms
• Wall cladding
• Slatted walls
• Elevator shaft cladding
• Various custom-made components such as stair treads, handrails, and countertop surfaces

All elements are carefully coordinated and contribute to a calm and consistent aesthetic within the building.

From engineering to completion

Within this project, we handled the entire execution, from project management and engineering to production and installation. The interior was completed within a construction period of 20 weeks in close collaboration with the construction partners.

The execution required tight coordination. Due to the tight schedule and the specific access procedures on Urenco’s secure site, flexibility and precision were essential. With short lines of communication and a structured approach, the project was delivered on schedule in December 2025.

Sustainable and Future-Oriented

The building was constructed in accordance with the BREEAM Excellent standard. In line with this, the materials used are FSC- or PEFC-certified wherever possible. As a result, the interior contributes to a sustainable and future-proof working environment.
