A few years ago, in 2014, we designed the interior of the store for the Leiden-based jeweler De Gunst.
While on vacation in Portugal, the owner of De Gunst discovered a jewelry store that particularly caught his eye. He tracked down the name of the Portuguese architect, who came to the Netherlands just two weeks later to view his current location. She was commissioned… and Harmeling was tasked with bringing her plans to life.
The store underwent a major renovation. During demolition, a beautifully understated ornamental ceiling and an old fireplace were uncovered. Both have been restored to their original condition and now serve as the focal points of the striking interior.
