AKOR
Sustainable and circular: those two words sum up the cafeteria we had the privilege of designing for AKOR.

- Production
- Implementation
We created the complete interior design for AKOR’s new cafeteria in Rijssen and manufactured all the custom furniture.
The cafeteria can accommodate more than a hundred employees. With a sturdy communal table in the kitchen, cozy round seating areas in the center, and train-style benches that offer a bit more privacy, there’s more than enough space for everyone. It’s a great place to relax and take a break from work. At the same time, the cafeteria fosters dynamism and interaction and is the perfect spot to celebrate and gather together in a friendly, informal setting.
A Piece of Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum in Rijssen
The extension is circular in design, from the structure down to the furniture details. For instance, wooden beams and steel columns from the former art storage facility of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam have been given a new lease on life in the cafeteria. Another unique feature of the interior is the cladding in the kitchen area. The walls are clad with innovative circular Solid Textile Board, made from waste from the textile manufacturer Kvadrat in Denmark. You can still see the typical blue fibers of denim, which playfully combine with the white core of the board in lines running around the space.

“We provided a fully circular interior for the AKOR cafeteria. For us, this is the icing on the cake.”
