A circular and sustainable building and interior: that was the goal for the new municipal office and the renovated city hall in Hengelo.
Fortunately, we were able to contribute our ideas right from the design phase of this project. This allowed us to work together to develop unique, future-proof solutions. The entire interior is custom-made, using recycled, circular, and sustainable materials. For example, all the wood comes from sustainably managed forests, and we used recycled PET bottles to create pleasant acoustics. The seating furniture is partly made from recycled silk, allowing these fabrics to break down completely naturally in the future. And the fully disassemblable, glue-free furniture makes reuse possible in the future.
