At a new location near the Heerenveen stadium, we worked as part of a construction team to create a custom interior for Van Wijnen’s headquarters.

We undertook this project as part of a construction team, with our specific responsibility being the custom interior design. The design was created by Studio Oak.

The entire interior is flexible and movable. This allows the office to grow and adapt as the company evolves. The Van Wijnen-red elements are particularly striking. These elements are mounted on a large rail that runs right through the office. This gives the space character and also serves as a flexible room divider.

Sustainability and Flexibility

Sustainability and flexibility are also central to this “smart office.” Everything in the building is designed to serve employees as effectively as possible. Sensors in the building ensure that the lighting, desk heights, and climate adjust to employees’ preferences. The ground floor houses the restaurant and (work) café, offering space for lunch, work, and meetings. The game corner offers a space for relaxation, and employees can find peace and quiet in the train-style seating. A greenhouse has been installed on the second floor of the building, where people can literally hold meetings surrounded by greenery. And from the floors to the paint on the walls: the latest materials in the field of circularity have been used throughout.
